AEED Project Responsibilities:
HVAC/Plumbing Design & LEED Certification of a History Museum
AEED designed the mechanical and plumbing for a newly renovated project consisting of a 2,600 sq ft office area, 1,200 sq ft museum collection storage area, and 17,400 sq ft main museum area. The main museum area consists of an Orientation Theater, gift shop, and several exhibits. A computer simulation model of the building was developed to assist with life-cycle cost analysis for energy efficiency considerations.
Unique Project Features:
Unique features include HVAC varible Refrigerant volume (VRV) systems with fresh air energy ventilators (ERV) and low flow water fixtures for both the office and the main musuem areas.
AEED is also assisting with LEED certification of the building. The LEED model of the building shows 32% savings in utilities and 37% savings in water use as compared to an ASHRAE baseline building.
