NFPA 70E Compliance
NFPA 70E is an electrical safety standard that addresses electrical safety requirements for employee workplaces and covers the full range of electrical safety issues, including safety related work practices, maintenance, special equipment requirements and installation.
NFPA 70E states that electrical panels in industrial facilities that are likely to be worked on while energized “shall be field marked with a label indicating the incident energy available, or the rating of needed protective clothing in calories per square centimeter (cal/cm2) to warn qualified persons of potential electric arc flash hazards and to aid in the selection of flame resistant clothing and other personal protective equipment (PPE). The label shall be located so as to be clearly visible to qualified persons before examination, adjustment, servicing, or maintenance of the equipment.”
AEED, Inc has a certified Electrical Engineering Team that can conduct an Arc Flash Hazard Analysis of your company’s electrical system. We use ETAP software that will perform the highly complex calculations per NFPA 70E and IEEE 1584 to determine levels of PPE required for your facility. We provide computer generated labels for field marking of devices, all of which bring our customers into compliance, based on the OSHA standards.
